Making The Most Out of A Cleaning Agency

There are a lot of people out there who would say they are against using cleaning agencies. There are many reasons why this may be the case and sometimes despite all the best efforts even Agencies can fail to deliver. From experience however, there are some common reasons why sometimes things don’t go so well between the Client and the Agency. Some of them are:- Lack of communication-the client often assume that the cleaner will pass messages onto the Agency but this is not always the case. Cleaners don’t pay for the cleaning and hence they don’t feel responsible to relay any messages. Unclear Requirements– A client may request the Agency to send in a cleaner on a Wednesday and leave the time option blank. The Agency may assume that this is because the client is flexible with times that day. So if you want a specific time slot then it is best to make sure that it is all written down. In addition if you want extra services such as ironing be clear to put it down on the Agency’s forms. Cleaners have different preferences, weaknesses and strengths, and it may be that the Agency will allocate you a cleaner who is not keen on the ironing and that will not work for your situation. Regular feedback– As a client if you feel that the service you are getting from the allocated cleaner is below your expectations, then it is best to make the Agency aware as soon as possible. You are using an Agency so that they can take care of all these issues so make sure the Agency knows. It is not a good idea to bottle up issues over months and then send one long letter mentioning plenty of issues at the same time. Bottling up issues will only  make you more angry. Putting things in writing– Agencies deal with many clients and it is a good idea to keep record of your communications with the Agency in case of any queries in future. Emails are an easy way of doing that these days. Go through your needs with the cleaner-when we do a bit of digging after receiving a complaint we often find that the cleaner was unaware that the client was unhappy with certain things that they are doing. For example the client may complain that the cleaner comes in at 10 when they prefer a little later. Upon asking the cleaner they may just point out they didn’t realise it was an issue.
