If you are a tenant or have ever rented you would have probably heard of the  term  inventory check. So what is an inventory check? The person doing the inventory check is not lenient, despite the fact that the bathroom is gleaming everywhere, that small cobweb in the corner will not be ignored that is for sure. Despite, most cleaning companies have a minimum charge anyway, so even if you the rectifications take 1hr, you will be charged the minimum equivalent usually 3hrs at least. So it really is worth getting a professional company to do the cleaning for you in the first place. Any rectifications required will be their responsibility. To help with things, you must ensure that things like light bulbs are in working order as you found them. Even outside, the garden, the front entrance are expected to be all well maintained. So no overgrown shrubs in the garden. At the time you moved in, you would have had a moving in inventory report and you could use this as a guide to pinpoint important things you need to pay attention to. Inventory checks are not just about the inside, even the external of the property is an important factor. The garden should be as you found it, usually nicely trimmed with no overgrown shrubs. Even the front entrance should be clean as this is all marked. To sum up, an Inventory Checks are all about, It’s almost as if you have to remove any evidence that you ever lived in the property. Cupboards must be emtpy and clean. Bathrooms should be gleaming with no moulds, grout or limescale.
